Joseph Andrew Rowe Collection

Joseph A. Rowe, a graduate of Stanford University, was an Engineer that specialized in Water Resources for decades. Together with his father before him, William Penn Rowe, also an Engineer, they ran an office in San Bernardino that included most public agencies in the region, in particular water agencies.  Between them, they kept everything; Books, Reports, Files, Maps, Aerial photos, and Government documents, and working illustrations.  By the end of Joe Rowe’s career he had thousands and thousands of water related documents that he donated to the Water Resources Institute (WRI) at California State University San Bernardino. It is literally the cornerstone of our archives, and the archives are the cornerstone of the WRI.  Over 4,000 aerial photos from the Rowe collection are accessible on our web page, and these represent just a small part of the overall Rowe Collection. The Rowe Collection is mostly related to the Santa Ana River and its tributaries
